What are “Autoflower” seeds?

Plants growing from autoflower seeds can do so independently of the photoperiod, meaning the ambient light cycle doesn’t matter. They can grow anywhere, but we recommend rearing them outside for the bulk of their growth period.

Why would I choose to buy Autoflower seeds?

Celebrated by the easy-growing groupies, autoflower is perfect for people who are dipping their toes in the home cultivation craft. Generally an easy-going plant, it is also prized for its small stature. So, growers interested in a more stealthy approach to their practice, or simply want to take up less space with their project, would prefer autoflowers. Also, due to their diva-free demeanor, they are favorable for their fast growth periods. Growers that are hoping for rapid yield would be attracted to this variety. 

What are “Feminized” seeds?

Feminized seeds boast an almost 100% yield of female plants. We recommend growing them in a controlled, indoor environment.

Why would I choose to buy Feminized seeds?

These are the seeds for growers with the buds-before-bros mindset. That is: achieving an ample yield of legal limit-potency THCa and consumable flower, while minimizing interference from male pollen. As such, they’re a cost-effective option for folks who want seeds specifically for a single, stellar crop.

What are “Regular” seeds?

Au naturale, as the plant would occur in the wild. Adult plants from these seeds have a 50/50 chance of being male or female. They are non-preferential in terms of growing inside or outside.

Why would I choose to buy Regular seeds?

For folks who want seeds from plants with very little genetic tinkering, regular seeds are the way to go. These buyers can dapple in their own strain-creation by accruing a pollen bank for DIY breeding projects. Regular seed consumers are typically already versed in the industry and excited to develop their muscles for creativity within the cannabis craft.

How do I know the seeds I received are of the strain I want?

Keep your friends close and your seed sources closer. That’s because we meticulously source our seeds from top-breeders and geneticists by the strain. We’ve curated an impeccable stash for every kind of grower with every kind of preference. Each seed is categorized by their type: either Autoflower, Feminized, or Regular. From there, you can go down a whole rabbit hole of filtrations.

What’s your return policy?

Our promise extends through our community of growers from a place of sincere respect for the product. While we have successfully replicated our approach innumerable times and work tirelessly to source the highest-possible quality seeds, it’s inescapable that planting and growing cannabis is a biological process. And so, not every seed will germinate! 

Customers can receive replacement seeds when:

(1) both seeds from a 2-count package do not germinate and/or 5 or more seeds from a 10-count package do not germinate; or, 

(2) picture proof is provided to hello@growfunkybeans.com. Our team will review your case and get back to you within 2 business days. 

If customers are eligible for replacement, Funky Beans will ship only the number of replacement seeds for those that did not germinate. Seeds that do not germinate due to grower deviation from the grow guide, or that are lost/damaged after receiving them, will not be replaced.

What’s your exchange policy?

Unopened seed packages can be exchanged within 21 days of receiving them. Contact hello@growfunkybeans.com to initiate an exchange.

When will my seeds be shipped?

Seeds will be shipped one day after payment has been processed.

How do I know my seeds are healthy?

All seeds will be thoroughly checked before shipment. However, it’s always good practice to check them yourself, too! Healthy seeds are brown and plump, sometimes with stripes. Unhealthy seeds are pale green or white.

How should I store my seeds?

Stick to the 40/40 rule! That’s 40% humidity at 40°F in a dark place for an expected shelf life of 12 months.

Does your grow method always work?

We’re not only committed to getting you the best seeds on the market, we also want you to feel confident rearing healthy, mature, harvestable cannabis plants. That’s why we put together this easy Beans-to-Green Grow Guide, making the craft of growing cannabis accessible to everyone.

A part of the fun of growing any plant from seed is getting to experientially participate in a fascinating biological process. So, results are dependent on a litany of conditional and environmental factors. We’ve pulled from our immense collective experience to bring you a tried and tested method for controlling as many factors as possible to render consistent results.

Do I need special equipment to get started?

In short: yes. 

While it is absolutely possible to grow bud without special equipment, you’ll find it easier to control conditions and render more consistent results with quantitative values and exceptional products. 

You can read all about the use of these tools in each step of the 6-step blog series “Beans-to-Greens Homegrown Cannabis: the Easy Funky Beans Method.” But here’s a quick list of what we recommend: 

  • A PAR Meter like this one.
  • A device to monitor the temperature, relative humidity, VPD, PAR, and Co2. We recommend getting one that knocks out all these measurements at once like this one or a less expensive option like this one.
  • Proper lighting. There’s a full explanation on lighting options for each step in the blog series. But especially if you’re planning to grow inside, you’ll need to invest in grow lights that meet the needs of your plants. 
  • Growing medium, an inert soil is best for planting your seeds. 

Soil enriching agents. We swear by these products, which you can find directly in our Supplies Shop: Soil-Activating Mycrobes, Growth-Promoting Coconut Powder, and Organic Aloe Vera Flakes.

Is it legal to buy seeds and grow cannabis at home?

We dutifully comply with all industry regulations and standards. Purchasing THCa seeds is not illegal. Check with your local regulatory guidelines to see how you can adhere to your state’s specific laws for growing.

Do I earn CannaCredits (rewards points) on Autoship Subscriptions?

Yes! 

Here’s the breakdown of your CannaCredit earning potential with autoshipping:

All changes to payment and/or account information must be completed 7 days prior to your billing date so that our canna-elves have time to process your order with the desired changes. Changes made within 7 days of your billing date will not be reflected until the following shipment.

How do I update my subscription?

Find all the switches and dials for your account in your customer dashboard. Here, you can update your payment methods and account information with some well-aimed clicks.

Can I freeze or cancel my subscription?

While your subscription can’t be frozen, you’re welcome to modify your subscription frequency or cancel it at any time in your customer account dashboard

Changes must be made at least 7 days before your next billing date. Changes made within 7 days of your billing date means your cancellation or schedule adjustment won’t go into effect until after the upcoming shipment date.

When is the last day to place an order to make the next shipment?

Place your order at least 7 days before the next billing for it to apply to that cycle.

Is shipping included in the cost of Autoship Subscriptions?

Nope! Shipping isn’t included in the price of the subscription.

When am I billed for my autoship order?

When are Autoship Subscriptions shipped and how is this different from Secret Stash Seedscription shipments?

Autoship subscriptions are shipped on the date that the payment is authorized at the frequency that you have chosen. Secret Stash seedscription orders are shipped on the 5th of every month for the frequency that you have chosen.

When will my order be delivered?

Orders are shipped the day after your payment has been processed. Standard shipping within the continental US can take 1-5 business days but is not guaranteed.

Can I return my order?

Once you receive your shipment of premium seeds, they’re yours! Secret Stash Seedscribers can also opt to cancel their account through their customer account dashboard. Login to your account to freeze or cancel your seedscription.

When will my order be delivered?

Orders are shipped on the 5th of every month for the frequency that members have chosen at time of enrollment. Standard ground shipping usually takes 1-5 business days to arrive within the continental US, but is not guaranteed.

How do I earn CannaCredits?

How much are CannaCredits worth?

Every $1 USD spent = 1 CannaCredit earned. AND, 10 CannaCredits = $1 USD that can be redeemed towards future purchases.

When will my CannaCredits be available?

CannaCredits earned from purchases are available 21 days after an order has shipped. CannaCredits earned after enrolling in Rewards, Autoship, and/or Secret Stash are available immediately. All other CannaCredits earned will be ready to use 24 hours after you’ve done what’s needed to get them.

I have fewer CannaCredits than I used to. Why?

We want everyone to earn (and keep!) honest CannaCredits. Customers can keep their CannaCredits if they processed an exchange. However, refunded purchases result in a forfeiture of the CannaCredits earned for that purchase.

How do I find out how many CannaCredits I have to use?

Find your rewards in your customer account dashboard, by logging into your Funky Beans account.

Will I ever be auto-enrolled into the Funky Grower Groupie Rewards program?

Yes, you are automatically enrolled to earn rewards – along with 150 starter CannaCredits (aka $15!) – when you sign up for a Secret Stash Seedscription or a standard Autoship Subscription.

When will I be able to use my points?

CannaCredits will be added to your bank once your order ships.

How do I redeem CannaCredits?

You can use these credits when you check out, either a little at a time or all at once. But, you need to have at least 100 CannaCredits before you can start using them (aka $10 towards more seeds).

CannaCredit redemption is only available with online purchases and cannot be applied towards Secret Stash Seedscriptions or standard Autoship Subscriptions (but Funky Grower groupies do earn CannaCredits for every Secret Stash or Autoship order).

Do CannaCredits expire?

All CannaCredits expire 365 days from the date of earning. 

For example, if you earned 100 points on March 1, 2024 and 75 points on May 1, 2024, then the 100 points you earned on March 1, 2024 would expire on March 1, 2025 and the 75 points earned on May 1, 2024 would remain until they expire on May 1, 2025.

Can I lose CannaCredits?

We want everyone to earn (and keep!) honest CannaCredits. Customers can keep their CannaCredits if they processed an exchange. However, refunded purchases result in a forfeiture of the CannaCredits earned for that purchase.

How do I get started?

How do I know if I am eligible to become a Wholesale Partner?

We have two types of Authorized Wholesale Partners: Resellers and Growers. Both partners will need to meet MOQ requirements, but only Resellers require having a reseller’s license.

How do I become a wholesale partner?

Fast, easy, and *so* worth it. Have your valid reseller’s license handy when you click on this Authorized Wholesale Partner registration. Our team will get back to you via the email associated with your account in 2-3 business days.

What are the payment terms?

Payment is due in full at checkout for all wholesale orders purchased online. The minimum order requirement to apply the 50% off SRP wholesale discounts is $500 ($1,000 retail value).

What is the minimum order quantity (MOQ) for wholesale accounts?
